REECE BRETT’S BIO

According to her sister, Reece Brett began writing “as soon as she could hold a crayon in her hand.” Reece’s original stories were about horses, but even those focused on relationships. The interactions between friends, lovers, and that one great love has always fascinated Reece.

Reece writes for two arts magazine. Under the name, Judi Brett, she has published four children’s books and created a DVD for the series, The Adventures of Buck the Buckle-Up Dog. She is always scribbling ideas for stories on notebooks, scraps of paper or on her laptop. Black Lyon Publishing published her romantic suspense, Stranger to Love.  She is currently working on a series.  See her blog under Scribblings to track her developing novel.

She and her own romantic hero live in South Jersey. Together they have shared the joys and the excitement of a blended family of six children. The family now includes two sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. Life in a “yours, mine and ours” family is chaotic, noisy, rewarding, entertaining and never dull. Reece confirms her greatest blessing is “My family with all its personalities. Each child is a favorite—for that hour.”

To escape their children and their hectic life, Reece and her husband kayak the rivers and lakes of southern Jersey. She enjoys kayaking, loves the closeness to nature, watching otters, eagles, herons and birds as she kayaks. Many of her favorite places involve water.

Her children claim Reece can sniff out any bookstore within 500 miles. Her favorite bookstore is Bogart’s Books, Millville, New Jersey. A rapidly expanding Writing Community in the Glasstown Arts District gathers at Bogart’s. Bogart’s promotes area authors and hosts a Writer’s Workshop conducted by Reece. An avid reader, she belongs to two book clubs and is a member of library board. As a child, she climbed to the top of apple trees, stretched out on a limb to read undisturbed.
