Summertime, summertime,sum-sum-summertime is my favorite time of the year. Sun, heat, the beach, water and my passion—writing. This summer has been reading and writing.
I have written in the early morning hours on the screen porch. The birds’ songs are background music and the hummingbirds flitting at the feeders nearby are the comic relief. Yeah, admittedly a corny image, but it worked.
The words flowed and scenes and characters grew. I like the book and images of my fictional town, Lakeside stay with me even amid my other summer activities. I am still in the early love affair with the book and haven’t started whittling away any excess and the tough editing and writing. Follow the development of the latest book and the joyous and frustrating work under Scribblings in the blog section.
I was a guest author for several reading groups who had read Stranger to Love. See Events section for pictures and descriptions of the visits. I also was author for Millville Women’s Club Discussion Group at Millville Library.
I also conducted writing workshops. Sharing with other writers is always inspiring. For descriptions of these and look under photos for participants pics and pics or “how I spent my summer vacation.”Ideas used in the workshops are available under The Writing Life.
